Delete your data
You can delete your Tredsy account and everything associated with it at any time. Here's how — and what gets removed.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open Tredsy on your iPhone.
- Go to Settings (gear icon, top-right of the Posts tab).
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
The account, all your posts (drafts, scheduled, and published history), all uploaded media (including files in our object storage), and your stored Threads access token are removed immediately.
Option 2 — Email us
If you've lost access to the app (for example, you've deleted it already without deleting the account first), email support@tredsy.com from the address tied to your Threads account, with the subject "Delete my Tredsy data". We will:
- Confirm your identity (we may ask for the Threads username and approximate sign-up date).
- Delete your records and respond within 30 days, usually faster.
Option 3 — Revoke access from Threads
You can also remove Tredsy's access to your Threads account on the Threads side:
- Open the Threads app or threads.net.
- Go to your profile → Settings → Account → Linked accounts → Apps and websites.
- Find Tredsy in the list and tap Remove.
Meta will notify our backend and we will automatically clear the stored access token for that Threads account. Your account record on Tredsy stays in place (so historical posts remain visible) until you explicitly delete the account using Option 1 or 2.
What gets deleted
- Your user record and authentication data.
- All posts: drafts, scheduled, published history.
- All uploaded media files in our Cloudflare R2 storage.
- Your encrypted Threads access token and connection metadata.
What may stick around briefly
- Encrypted database backups for up to 30 days. They are not accessible to humans and rotate automatically.
- Server logs for up to 7 days, which may contain your IP address but no post content. They are rotated by our hosting provider.
Posts already published to Threads
Deleting your Tredsy account does not delete the posts that have already gone live on Threads — those belong to Threads now. To remove them, delete the posts directly inside the Threads app.
